Bruce is interviewed by Lauren Rose who was a Jane Doe in the Bill Gothard lawsuit. She asks penetrating questions revealing how mistranslations and misinterpretations of the key passages on women and men have been weaponized. Should these passages be mistrusted or should those wayward teachings and their proponents by mistrusted? In less than an hour Lauren and Bruce cover multiple passages. Go Deeper? Bruce has written four volumes in The Eden Book Series. He refers to Books 1 (on Genesis 2-3), 2 (on Ephesians 5-6) and 4 (on 1 Peter 3) in this interview. All four are based on his doctoral research and that of Joy Fleming.

On Genesis 2-3. God didn't curse Eve (or Adam) or limit woman in any way!
On Ephesians 5-6. This is not primarily a passage on marriage. Paul writes that men and women believers are to teach and correct one another in the Spirit, and at the same time they are to submit themselves to that teaching and correction. They main truth from verse 32 is that all believers are united with Jesus in one joint-body.
On 1 Peter 3:1-7. These 7 verses are Peter's advice how to witness to an unsaved spouse. In verse 7 he instructs Christian husbands not to turn off their seeking wife by unseemly behavior. Then his prayers for his spiritually weaker (unsaved) partner will not be hindered.
