The man follows the serpent-tempter. Both reject God's stated will. The woman rejects the words of her enemy who deceived her into going against God's stated will. God speaks to her very differently. God imposes a curse because of the rebellion of each one. Two rebels - two curses. To the serpent tempter God uses the woman's words and imposes a curse on him. God confirms they are one another's enemy.
God speaks to each of the two rebels, the serpent tempter and the man, using a six-point parallel pattern.
The elements of this pattern are completely absent in God's words to the woman. She is treated differently. Why?
